Question:
What sort of recovery is there following a hair transplant? Do some techniques involve a shorter or easier recovery?
Answer:
The routine recovery is that there will be some crusting for four or five days after a hair transplant and sutures in for a week where the donor site is. However, you are up and around the next day after surgery and, while you may have to take it easy for approximately a week to ten days, there is very little change in your lifestyle after a hair transplant. Also, if you do follicular unit extraction, there is no big incision in the back of the head and there may be a little less discomfort and a little less concern with having sutures in that area. The bottom line, however, is that the recovery is extremely easy and most people have very little change in their lifestyle in the first week after a hair transplant is done.
