Question:
What is the average number of low-level laser light therapy treatments that are needed to effectively stop hair loss?
Answer:
We employ low-level laser light therapy as a treatment for hair loss which involves men and women. To be effective, typically patients need 1 to 2 treatments a week for 3 to 6 months, although results can be seen in as soon as 6 weeks. Done once a week, the laser light therapy is applied for 35 minutes and if done twice a week it is applied for 20 minutes. Laser light therapy is also utilized for rapid healing after a transplant procedure. The laser light therapy seems to stimulate the mitochondria and other components of hair follicles, thus prolonging the life of hair follicles and improving their appearance.
