Question:
What are the pros and cons of slit grafts versus punch grafts? Is one better than the other?
Answer:
The old punch grafts were slightly more visible. The slit grafts have the advantage of being very small slits, 0.05 mm to 0.8 mm in length, and these will take anywhere from one to four hairs implanted and, because of that, they are very difficult to visualize upon healing. The result of the slit graft is extremely natural looking and is really the preferred method of choice today to get a good hairline and to get good density of hair.
