Question:
What are some things that make a hairline look natural?
Answer:
As you may have seen on www.foundhair.com as well as www.womenscenterforhairloss.com, Dr. Epstein’s work and the other Foundation doctor’s work is among the most natural in the entire world. As you can see from over 2,000 photographs that we have posted on our websites, our Foundation doctors have an innate ability to create a natural-looking hairline that will last a lifetime. The major factors that determine this are as follows:
First, our doctors focus on using almost exclusively single hair grafts along the hairline. This helps to avoid the typical plug look or pitted look that can often occur in a less than natural hair transplant.
Second, doctors focus on creating irregularity along the hairline. When we say irregularity, often times in a poor hair transplant an individual’s hairline looks too straight or too circular and it looks too perfect. When in reality people’s hairlines do follow a pattern, they are not perfect and they need to have imperfection along the hairline to draw attention away from the hairline.
Last, the angulation of the hairs is important. Hairs along the hairline should be angled forward, flat and straight down, similar to the way one’s hair would look if they combed their hair straight forward from back to front. This creates the appearance of more hair and also helps match most people’s natural growth pattern in their hair.
These and several other minor factors and the doctor’s natural skill help to determine the naturalness of the hairline. Dr. Epstein is a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and because of this he does bring a natural artistic ability to the creation of a hairline that is very rarely paralleled.
