Question:
Should I use Rogaine?
Answer:
What types of products each patient uses is a personal choice. In general, Rogaine works better to slow down the progression of hair loss in the back half of the head than the front half of the head. While it should not hurt the front half of the head, most patients who choose to use Rogaine use it not so much to increase growth in the back of the scalp but mostly to decrease the speed at which the hair loss is continuing. So, patients should not use Rogaine if they are expecting to re-grow a full head of hair but should consider Rogaine if they are experiencing signs of hair loss in the back half of the head and want to do all that they can to slow down the progression of hair loss. It is supposed to be used regularly and so if one is going to try this treatment, they should stick with the treatment for months to find out whether or not it works for them.
