Question:
I really want to get an eyebrow transplant I’m just worried it won’t turn out or something will go wrong; so what are the risks and side affects during or after the eyebrow transplant?
Answer:
Any surgical procedure has risks- relatively speaking, there are few medical risks with the eyebrow transplant due to the minimal invasiveness.
From a cosmetic perspective, the goal of the procedure is a significant improvement- not necessarily perfection due to the many challenges in restoring an eyebrow, especially given how every patient heals differently. Having performed as many of these procedures as I have, I advise my patients that there may be a few areas where the hairs do not grow as well, which can be addressed with a touch up procedure. Furthermore, with the hairs, there may a few that with healing do not grow exactly in the desired direction- these hairs can be either trained to grow in the better direction or treated with plucking.
