Question:
I had a hair transplant several years ago and have never been happy with the results. I would like to have some revision work and just wondered what happens with the old grafts. Are they scrapped or can they be saved and reused?
Answer:
Yes, the old grafts can be saved and reused if at all possible. The good hair follicles that still exist in the old grafts when they are removed will then be cut into follicular units for proper placement in the scalp. Sometimes a reasonable amount of hair can be used to help solve the problem thanks to restructuring of the old grafts.
