Question:
I have had multiple old plug type hair transplants. Can I have a strip FUT to remove some of the circular scars while using the follicles left between and also do some FUE’s in the same procedure?
Answer:
Doing FUT and FUE in the same procedure is reasonable on certain patients.
It can definitely allow the doctor to obtain more follicular units in one session.
A patient having had prior work/plug type hair transplants would not exclude them from having both of these techniques performed in a single procedure.
It really depends on what kind of remaining donor hair the patient has, the laxity of the scalp, and what are patient’s expectations.
