Question:
Can FUE, or follicular unit extraction, be used to fix some cobblestoning that I have from a previous hair transplant?
Answer:
Cobblestoning can be a major aesthetic issue and is usually due to the use of over enlarged grafts due to antiquated techniques. Fixing cobblestoning with FUE could mean several things including using the FUE technique for obtaining additional grafts which can help to camouflage of some previously placed grafts and scarring, which is what cobblestoning is, of the scalp. In addition, follicular unit extraction can be used to actually remove previously placed grafts, eliminating some of the scaring. These are just two techniques that an experienced surgeon will utilize in revision transplant surgery.
