Common Everyday Things You Can Do To Prevent or Slow Down Hair Loss

  • Check your diet- in most situations the body doesn’t mind if you eat too much in the short term. When we don’t eat enough, the first thing that will be compromised is the allocation of protein towards hair growth. Next to go are the micronutrients, such as biotin and zinc, which the hair needs to grow healthy. This means that you must maintain a well-balanced broad diet. If you’re a vegetarian, you must mix and match your proteins. Many trichologists think it’s hard to mix and match proteins, but the reality is, it’s not, and it is essential for feeding your body all of the essential amino acids it needs.
  • Healthy scalp- treat scalp conditions with appropriate shampoos and dermatologic medications, such as anti-dandruff over the counter shampoos, and anti-psoriasis medications for psoriasis.
  • Vitamins- a multi-vitamin, especially one that is specified to help with hair growth.
  • Gelatin- high-grade gelatin powder can be obtained from any health food store
