What doesn’t cause hair loss -- just to clear the air
- Clogged pores, excessive dirt or sweat
- Wearing hats- although the use of a hair system/hair piece that is worn round the clock has been linked to exacerbating poor hair growth and thus should be discouraged
- Stress- other than physical stress (crash dieting, high fever, pregnancy), most psychological stress is rarely the cause of hair loss
- Harsh hair care- such as excessive hair brushing, straightening, or coloring only work above the skin at the level of the hair, while most hair loss is due to something happening at the level of the follicle. While these manipulations can make the hair brittle and break easily, the underlying follicles will lead to the growth of new healthy hair constantly
